Heb. 10:23 “Let’s hold firmly to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful;”
The Holy Spirit has recorded on the pages of the Bible a long list of those who never doubted the promises of God and counted the one who made the promise is faithful. Then we can see some histories of those who did not believe God's promises and those who doubted God's laws also recorded in the Bible as a warning for all the ages. In the sixth chapter of the book of Genesis, we read about Noah who Noah found favor in the eyes of Jehovah. When God saw that the wickedness of man was great, the thoughts of his heart were evil, and all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. God decided to wipe them off the face of the earth. But God was gracious to Noah, who walked in innocence / righteous in that generation.
God destroyed all the people who behaved badly in the subsequent flood, Later God made a promise to Noah and his sons that there would not be another flood like this, and that He would not destroy the earth through the flood.
Time passed and three hundred and fifty years after the flood, Noah died and his descendants filled the earth. But later they also started rebelling against God. They decided to build a tower that would reach to heaven (Genesis 11:4). It was not wrong that they wanted to build a nice city and live in it. But after they decided to build a tower that reached the sky, their goal was not only to make a name. There was another hidden agenda behind it. They thought that if there was another flood and God decided to destroy the earth, they could use this tower to escape from flood. But God, who knows the hearts of men from afar, saw their unbelief, and saw that they despised His law, and confused their language and scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth.
They did not believe the words of God who gave a rainbow sign in the sky and promised that He would never again destroy the earth with a flood (Gen. 9:13).
Again, God was looking through the generations to see if there was a person who fully believe and obey Him. And so God found Abraham in Terah's generation. 12:1. God called Abraham and took him to the promise land from that generation that dared to build the tower of Babel without believing God's word.
The history of a new generation began there and even today the promised generation of Abraham (the father of believers) is on this earth.
Galatia. 3:6.. Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness Know therefore that they that are of faith, the same are sons of Abraham... So then they that are of faith (Believers) are blessed with the faithful Abraham”.
Those who do not believe in the Promises of God, take God's covenant lightly and their generations lie in the dustbin of history, But those who count the one who promised is faithful and the one who wait for the fulfillment of God's promise will be blessed on earth with their generation!
Romans 4:20.. “yet, looking unto the promise of God, he wavered not through unbelief, but waxed strong through faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what he had promised, he was able also to perform. Wherefore also it was reckoned unto him for righteousness”
Let us wait with hope and faith in the promises that God has spoken to us. The faithful Lord will fulfill them Amen
May God bless us with these Promise,
